{"id":1260,"date":"2012-08-08T21:58:28","date_gmt":"2012-08-09T02:58:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/importnut.net\/models\/?p=1260"},"modified":"2017-12-05T14:38:37","modified_gmt":"2017-12-05T20:38:37","slug":"honda-glasstop-crx","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/importnut.net\/models\/honda-glasstop-crx\/","title":{"rendered":"Honda Glasstop CRX &#8211; Fujimi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; line-height: 1.4em;\">This is a glass top CRX which had it&#8217;s delicate roof caved in during shipping from Hong Kong.\u00a0 I was able to mend the break.\u00a0 I also decided to shave the door handles and gas filler cap.\u00a0 I strongly felt that they were too big on the car.\u00a0 &#8220;not to scale&#8221;<\/span> <span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">I&#8217;m very pleased with the end result of this kit.\u00a0 The wheels turned out better than I had hoped and the repair to the damaged roof held up well.\u00a0 The detail work that I completed on the trim and the roof glass have also turned out better than I had hoped.\u00a0 I tinted the glass roof and the rest of the glass including the lower rear glass.<\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">I lowered the kit by utilizing metal axles.\u00a0 In the rear, I was able to create a vertical slot that allowed me to adjust the height.\u00a0 Once I had it right, I super glued the axle in place.\u00a0 The work is completely hidden by the suspension.\u00a0 In the front, I added a metal axle.\u00a0 I was able to drill through the transmission and intermediate shaft.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0I also u<span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">sed Bare Metal Foil to back the lights to improve the look of the lenses.<\/span> <span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">I wrapped up the project by replacing the poorly molded exhaust tips with aluminum tubing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Completed: August 2012<\/p>\n<div id='gallery-1' class='gallery galleryid-1260 gallery-columns-3 gallery-size-thumbnail'><figure class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<div class='gallery-icon landscape'>\n\t\t\t\t<a href='https:\/\/importnut.net\/models\/honda-glasstop-crx\/eg-hatch-004\/'><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/importnut.net\/models\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/eg-hatch-004-150x150.jpg\" class=\"attachment-thumbnail size-thumbnail\" alt=\"\" aria-describedby=\"gallery-1-1261\" srcset=\"https:\/\/importnut.net\/models\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/eg-hatch-004-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/importnut.net\/models\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/eg-hatch-004-100x100.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<figcaption class='wp-caption-text gallery-caption' id='gallery-1-1261'>\n\t\t\t\tLong before I started this project, I had it staged like this along with my other projects. The idea was to protect the paint. The rear was accomplished by cutting a slot allowing the axle to move up.  The modification to the front was done by eliminating the front spindles and passing a metal axle through the chassis.  It isn&#8217;t accurate, but it worked for me back then. I didn&#8217;t spray enough clear on the rear of the hatch and sanded through.  I also sanded through on the bumper.  To repair it, I resprayed the color.
