{"id":1734,"date":"2005-12-31T14:01:09","date_gmt":"2005-12-31T20:01:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/importnut.net\/models\/?p=1734"},"modified":"2016-03-31T12:16:20","modified_gmt":"2016-03-31T17:16:20","slug":"the-bench-in-2005","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/importnut.net\/models\/the-bench-in-2005\/","title":{"rendered":"The Bench &#8211; 2005"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is the first post in the work bench category. \u00a0I thought I would share the overview shots of my work area. \u00a0The close-up pictures are nice but don&#8217;t give the scope of what I do or the volume of projects that I keep running at any given time. \u00a0This is a collection of bench shots from 2005.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to 2005, I was heavily involved in RC racing and body painting. \u00a0During this time, the models took a back seat. \u00a0For my model building come-back, I dove into a few custom projects that required quite a bit of custom work. \u00a0This was the first year I started using automotive body filler and I was amazed by the caliber of work I could perform.<\/p>\n<p>Finished this year:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/importnut.net\/models\/1966-chevy-malibu\/\">Blue 1966 Chevy Malibu<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/importnut.net\/models\/mazda-second-gen-miata-nb\/\">NB Mazda Miata<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/importnut.net\/models\/nissan-s14-silvia\/\">S14 Nissan Silvia<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/importnut.net\/models\/jdm-honda-integra-type-r\/\">Japanese Spec Integra Type R<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I continued work on the Bug, custom Chevy truck and started the 356 Porsche and gray &#8217;66 Chevy Malibu rework projects.<\/p>\n<div id='gallery-1' class='gallery galleryid-1734 gallery-columns-3 gallery-size-thumbnail'><figure class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<div class='gallery-icon landscape'>\n\t\t\t\t<a href='https:\/\/importnut.net\/models\/the-bench-in-2005\/models-2005-024\/'><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/importnut.net\/models\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/models-2005-024-150x150.jpg\" class=\"attachment-thumbnail size-thumbnail\" alt=\"\" aria-describedby=\"gallery-1-1735\" srcset=\"https:\/\/importnut.net\/models\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/models-2005-024-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/importnut.net\/models\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/models-2005-024-100x100.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<figcaption class='wp-caption-text gallery-caption' id='gallery-1-1735'>\n\t\t\t\tI experimented with die cast.  The sheer mass of the bodies resulted in easily chipped paint.
