I finished only one 1/64th scale restoration this year. This car and I go all the way back to 3rd grade. I received it as a gift for my birthday. Why I remember those details for one specific Matchbox car, I’ll never know.

I stripped it and made repairs to the casting. Once premiered, I sprayed it Dodge High Octane red. The only addition to this build is a set of aftermarket wheels which I painted gold.

After clearcoat, I masked and sprayed the trim. The interior was sprayed silver and I hand painted the seats and dash black. The chassis received details from bare metal foil, chrome paint and sharpie markers.

Once finished, I proudly display this long loved Matchbox car!
