Interior detail work in progress.

I painted the seats and center console satin black and the rest of the interior flat black. It will be next to impossible to see this in the finished kit but I like the way it turned out.

A silver sharpie was used to pick out the speakers.

I also used the sharpie to paint the rings around the gauges.

I’m taking a good look at how much of a pain it will be to paint the chassis. Thanks for molding in almost all of the detail.

Ready for primer

With the body in color, it was time to move on to other details.

I found a set of Pegasus wheels online and ended up throwing them into the wheel wells and really liked the idea. They are much wider than the steel wheels that came with the kit.

The drawback to using the wheels was needing to make them fit. I had to grind the wheel wells for clearance.

Comparing left to right, a before and after of how much material was removed to make clearance.

And it fits! Up front, I had to grind a bit of the shock for inside clearance. In the back, I had to grind away the inner well as well as a bit of the leaf springs. In the end, this is what it looks like. The ride height was not modified and it was perfect.
